The Food and Beverage Supervisor contributes to the achievement of the team by ensuring the smooth operations of all locations in collaboration with the Food and Beverage Management team.
This role requires a high level of customer interaction, staff leadership, staff training and delegation. You will require good interpersonal and communication skills.
When meeting with customers, you will provide advice, recommend products, answer any questions a customer might have. You will be able to competently process sales and complete point of sale transactions. You must be responsive and helpful to your customer needs, to not only meet their expectations but to exceed them, as well as encourage customers to purchase a greater range of products.
You are required to oversee all staff in their sections and make sure they keep the section clean and presentable at all times.
Duties Include:
- Provide outstanding customer service to all guests who visit Australia Zoo.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of our Food and Beverage products in order to describe relevant information to customers whilst they make their selections.
- Ensure the front counter area of Australia Zoo food court is welcoming, clean and well signed.
- Ensure that supervised staff are providing quality interactions and service to all patrons on a daily basis.
- Welcome and greet customers, assisting patrons with enquiries.
- Point-of-sale processing including register operation, receiving and processing cash or credit payments. This may include other transactions such as vouchers.
- Responsible for ensuring all procedures relating to the opening and closing of Australia Zoo Crikey Café are organised and adhered to on a daily basis.
- Completion of the procedure checklist/s is required to make certain all tasks are completed in a timely manner on a daily basis.
- Working alongside our HR department to ensure all staff training is completed.
- Ensuring all staff performance feedback is advised to management
- Monitoring staff appearance including uniforms, jewellery etc to meet Australia zoo standards and policy and ensure that all procedures are being adhered to.
- The major part of your role is supervision of staff and delegation of tasks to meet all indicators across all sections when required by management and within the policy and procedural guidelines.
- Performance management and development of any direct reports such as Front of House employees. This will involve assistance with recruitment, motivation, training and coaching plus undertaking performance reviews.
- Monitor and review staff requirements – send home casual staff that are not required, keeping labour costs to establishment requirements.
- Coordinate with the department manager of the tasks and daily routine, daily check front counters and table’s area.
- Monitoring stock and stock rotation on front counters and trolleys and delegation of staff to complete.
- Ensuring section checklists and task schedules are completed daily and monthly.
- Follow Food Safety Procedures and training related to cooking and serving of foods in a food business.
- Ensuring sections are cleaned and maintained in accordance with company procedure
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment. Keep the area tidy and clean, this includes scrubbing floors, mopping, cleaning windows, sanitising benches, tables, chairs, condiment stations, cleaning out fridges and freezers etc.
- Coordinate and direct Employee tasks and daily routine..
- Keeping up to date with special promotions, staff memos, communications books and putting up displays.
Essential Criteria:
- Hold current Driver’s Licence.
- Available to work weekends, public holidays, and school holiday periods.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
- Experience in a similar role and long term commitment to Australia Zoo.
- Excellent leadership abilities, and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (QLD).
- Full availability, including weekends, evenings, public holidays and school holidays.
Preferred Criteria:
- First Aid Qualification.
- Diploma of Hospitality.
