
Food And Beverage Stock Hand - Full Time

The role of Stock Hand is integral to the operations of the Food and Beverage department. This role is responsible for ensuring the correct handling, invoicing, receiving, counting and storing of stock within the food and beverage areas.
This role is also responsible for ensuring daily stocklists are completed for all trolley outlets, by ensuring appropriate stock is delivered on time, and in a safe manner.
Duties Include:
- Maintain a regular and rolling stock take.
- Highlight slow moving stock items and report back to the Stock Supervisor.
- Regularly check the database for accuracy.
- Control stock to ensure zero to minimal wastage.
- Adhere to all Australia Zoo policies and procedures.
- Manage preventative maintenance on all stock related vehicles and facilities.
- Regularly report on potential areas of opportunity in regards to variance and yield management.
- Daily rotation checks and ensure all products are of a high quality and within use by dates.
- Receive, store and deliver all required goods to appropriate outlets ensuring items are transferred using the PDE’s.
- Daily stock area spot checks to monitor unrecorded waste or sales – to be reported to the department supervisor.
- Meet with key suppliers to ensure that products ordered meet our strict profit and quality guidelines.
- Maintain required product levels in each outlet at all times.
- Record daily logs to ensure product integrity.
- Order all function related items and liaise with the chef on upcoming menu development.
- Utilise your team to set up function areas and equipment in consultation with functions supervisor to ensure the smooth execution of all events.
- Assist in setting up food and beverage ‘activations’ throughout the zoo.
- Maintaining the back loading ramp and surrounding gardens are free of debris and litter.
- Ensure all delivery gates are closed during zoo operating hours.
- Accountable for removing all activations or equipment not in use and taken off display.
- Weekly meetings with operations managers to identify areas of opportunity and weekly focus targets.
- Handle any minor maintenance issues and liaise with the Australia Zoo maintenance team for larger issues.
Essential Criteria:
- Hold a current Drivers licence (Manual is preferred).
- Available to work Weekends, Public Holidays and School Holiday periods.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.
- A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with people of all backgrounds, experience and management levels.
Preferred Criteria:
- Forklift Licence.
